Holden: lier!!

Look at the lies & propaganda put out by that banana republikin Holden about Her Majesty! He calls it telling lies, well the only one who is telling lies is you Mr Holden!!! Here it is:

http://www.holdenrepublic.org.nz/2006/09/telling-lies-for-her-majesty-royal.html

That smart-arse thinks he's so fucking smart, quoting some pointy-heads,& saying like King Canute that everyone else is wrong, but him.Our Queen has the power to dismiss Parliament & tell the corrupt Labourites to leave office, & to act, as a Great Leader that She is!!

Holden must be a Labourite socialist, he wants to say that our Queen cannot kick the Labourites, out of the Beehive & save this country.Mr Holden, tell the truth!! You know that she can, & bloody well should! Holden is corrupt like the Labourites, Brash should be Prime Minster!

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

For the record Bill, I am not a member of the Labour Party, nor have I ever been, nor do I intend to join anytime soon. So give it up already.

If you think making statements along the lines of "the Queen can dismiss anyone she wants" gives you a solid basis to make an argument, then you are wrong. I quote "pointy-heads" (and, I would add, not all of them agree with me) because they're the people who know best about these things.

Lewis does not tell lies imo; however he reworks things into his views (mark of a good debater).

Even if I personally disagree with 97% of his views; he has the right to hold under free speech; a right that is protected by Her Majesty.

Welcome back Bill.

Banzai: You mean to say Mr. Wilmot is as corrupt as Helen Clark?

As Dr. Brash; our next Prime Minister; has stated in the past: this Labour Government is the most corrupt in History.

Heh, I don't ambush people. I'm pretty proactive in my republicanism, that's why Bill dislikes me with a passion.

I think (although I'm not totally sure) Bill's point is that since NZ MPs are "corrupt" then they can't be trusted to run a republican form of government. However (yes, here's where I "turn things around" and put my perspective on this) that is exactly the point - what we need is not a Head of state unable to act against corruption in Parliament, but a Head of state that can mediate and resolve constitutional issues, with reserve powers at the ready should or MPs overstep the mark. That's exactly what I did by putting forward my codification of the head of state's powers.

Brian - the mark of the good debator is someone who backs their claims with facts, something Bill doesn't do. At least you tried to in your "Telling lies for their President" post, even though you mis-quoted Maxim...

Lewis:You do have the benefit of an good library behind you; I have to order books in through my local library; from the National Library - which take about 2/3 weeks to come in; that's why my post are sometimes 'late'

Brian - yes that is true. When you become a law student you'll have all the resouces at your disposal :-)

Banzai - Wilmot has been on this theme for ages.

"Don Brash for PM". Well, I can see why you'd want him, Bill, seeing as how he has the same respect for the institution of marriage and the vows associated therewith as the heir to your monarchy.

And by the way, Bill (or perhaps Wiremu in honour of your Kiwi-ness), Canute did not say he could turn back the sea. That legend is utterly misunderstood. His courtiers told him he could do anything, even that, and he stood in the surf commanding it to turn back. He did it to prove to his coutriers that he could NOT do it. Try reading books with more words than pictures in future.
